They came for his family. Now Detective Alex Cross is out for vengeance.

Cross finds himself confronting some very important, very protected, very dangerous people in levels of society where only one thing is certain - they will do anything to keep their secrets safe.

As Cross closes in on the killer, he discovers evidence that points to the unimaginable - a revelation that could rock the entire world.

Critic reviews

If there were really superheroes, Alex Cross would be at the head of the class. (NEW YORK TIMES)
Cross is such a lovable hero . . . whose compassion warmly balances the icy cruelty of Patterson's villains. (PUBLISHERS WEEKLY)
It's no mystery why James Patterson is the world's most popular thriller writer: his uncanny skill in creating living, breathing characters we truly feel for and seamless, lightning-fast plots. I do this for a living, and he still manages to keep me guessing from the first to last page ... Simply put: Nobody does it better. (JEFFERY DEAVER)
Behind all the noise and the numbers, we shouldn't forget that no one gets this big without amazing natural storytelling talent - which is what Jim has, in spades. The Alex Cross series proves it. (LEE CHILD, bestselling author of the Jack Reacher series)
James Patterson is The Boss. End of. (IAN RANKIN, bestselling author of the Inspector Rebus series)
I wrote, "Along Came a Spider is the best thriller I've come across in many a year. It deserves to be this season's no. 1 bestseller and should instantly make James Patterson a household name." A household name, indeed. (NELSON DEMILLE)
Every once in a while a writer comes along and fundamentally changes the way people read. He or she is so bright, so innovative, so industrious that what they envision and create becomes the measure by which all others are judged. In 1993 one such writer - James Patterson - began to do just that ... James Patterson is the gold standard by which all others are judged. (STEVE BERRY, bestselling author of the Colton Malone series)
[Alex Cross] has become one of the greatest fictional detectives of all time, a character for the ages. (DOUGLAS PRESTON and LINCOLN CHILD)
Alex Cross is a legend. (HARLAN COBEN)
Patterson boils a scene down to the single, telling detail, the element that defines a character or moves a plot along. It's what fires off the movie projector in the reader's mind. (MICHAEL CONNELLY)

If you could sum up I, Alex Cross in three words, what would they be?

Strong, calm, sensitive.

What was one of the most memorable moments of I, Alex Cross?

When Nana Mama was found by Alex and taken to hospital.

Have you listened to any of Tim Cain and Michael Gervais ’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is my first experience of any audio book and I love it. The best thing is having the 2 performers and how they read in different voices for different characters.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Can Alex find Zeus?

Any additional comments?

I definitely want to listen to more audio books.

I always enjoy the Alex Cross books - nice easy listening which you don’t have to think about too much.
Unfortunately one of the characters was from England and the narrater’s accent was not good, verging on comical - I always think it’s so weird that Americans struggle with an English accent - it didn’t ruin the story but it did make me laugh and also slightly cringe.....

Dodgy English Accent

Great story from JP as is expected however the narrator is poor and the British accent he puts on is borderline offencive. My ears are still suffering.

My friend insisted I read this. Load of rubbish. Cliche after cliche; reads like a (bad) parody of the genre. The ending...dreadful.

Cliche overload
