Summary

Can you tell me how to get...out alive?

Johnny awakes. A puppet looms over his bed.

He recognizes the furry monster: Grandpa was its puppeteer on the children’s television show R-City Street. But Grandpa went missing a year ago. He disappeared from this very apartment building, which was converted from the old R-City Street studio.

Desperate to see Grandpa again, Johnny follows the puppet inside the building’s walls, ever deeper into a puppet-infested labyrinth....

I Found Puppets Living in My Apartment Walls is a horror novella from the “darkly inventive” purveyor of uncanny places and wondrous evils, Ben Farthing.

Something different and refreshing. I'm a massive horror fan and this was different to your usual horror stories. Fingers crossed for another book that dives into the evil that has been unleashed!

Thoroughly enjoyed this listen. Loved it from the very beginning with the docile puppet standing over the protagonist in bed. I already have an uncanny fear of puppets and old dolls, and suffer from the most vivid Night Terror hallucinations I know about, so I related to this immediately.

This book isn't so much a story of sheer horror as it is just a masterpiece of pure terror, that is growing and changing shape from the beginning. If you've never heard of the mental phenomena known as "The Uncanny Valley," now is a good time read about it, because this book is going to throw you brain first into the deep end.

You might think that this book seems a bit on the short side, but rest assured it is the perfect length. If you, like me, have grown up reading Creepypastas, this book is sort of like a very well fleshed out Creepypasta, but even better.

The dread and terror in the second half of this book is immense. It might seem a bit goofy at first, but give it time. it really will disturb you. The conclusion is like the most perfect nightmare I have seen in a long time.

This is the first book by Ben Farthing I have listened to, and it will not be the last.

The puppet apocalypse is nigh...

Really enjoyed this take on puppet horror (is this even a genre?). Listening to this reawakened my fear of Beaker from the Muppet Show. 😆 This was my second story of my deep dive into the weird and wonderful worlds of Ben Farthing. Hook it to my veins!

When I saw the title for this, I wasn't overly excited as I can remember watching Seasame Street but not really caring too much for it. Count von Count appealed to me for the obvious reason as a horror fan...... yes even at the ripe old age of 3 or 4 but sadly, I felt deceived by Seasame Street because the idea of Dracula featuring meant creepy, scary horror stories not happy clappy song and dance. If the writers had Ben Farthing's ideas, I would've not been disappointed at all by the show and would've loved it as much as I did this story. Now I appreciated the muppets due to this horrifying glorifying reimagining. Funnily enough deception runs deep with these muppets too.

A not so strange but uniqly creative horror reader!
