About this listen

FOREWORD BY WINONA RYDER

Tune in, turn on, drop out. So said Timothy Leary, global figurehead for sixties psychedelic culture and 'the most dangerous man in America' according to President Nixon. A psychologist at Harvard, Leary was forced to leave when he started to dedicate his efforts to researching LSD and other psychedelic drugs, a vocation which changed an entire generation. John Higgs' incredible biography reveals the stranger-than-fiction true story of one of the most divisive figures of the twentieth century.

I've read a couple of books on Timothy Leary and this is easily the best, John Higgs is an excellent writer and a great narrator.

Another brilliant John Higgs book.

Tim Leary was a fascinating person and this book really does capture the essence of his life. Higgs performs it well and clearly did a lot of deep research. The main issue however is the jumping around in time it tends to do. It does make the mid section harder to follow.

A fascinating story

As the title states, felt there was too much padding out with detail that was really not interesting, I kind of lost interest in it all about 5-6 chapters from the end..

Too many chapters dedicated to Tabloid-like detail
