I was stranded. Today, I tell people I have Wi-Fi to God, but I’ve been in the wilderness without a connection and I’ve wandered around without any hope of signaling somebody for help. Nobody wanted me. Nobody loved me. Nobody cared. Experiences and people knocked down my bars; then knocked out my power. Disregard took down attention. Abuse took down approval. Destruction took down growth. Neglect took down kindness. But no one could ever take down that fifth bar: presence. There was a presence in my life—one that did want me, one that loved me and cared for me; it took decades to recognize the bar that never fell. This is the story of that presence and how, with it, I got all five bars rockin’! This is my story.
