Summary

Tom Reed is a crime reporter with The San Francisco Star whose superb journalistic skills earned him a Pulitzer nomination. But years later Reed's life is coming apart. His editor wants him fired. So glad I persevered! There seemed to be a lot of names flying about & I was a little confused at the start but that quickly changed & I couldn’t stop listening.

The villain of the story has a religious delusion that does not ring completely true as a reaction to trauma. The author has crafted a good yarn but (as a clinical psychology professional) I couldn’t fully believe in the characteristics of his disorder. The insights of the FBI profilers also stretched credibility - on what basis did they decide that religiosity was a central aspect of the unsub? However, it is worth a free listen and I will probably explore more books in the series.

I have to say I thought I was going to give up on this at the beginning but in all honesty it turned out to be a great story, must have been because I finished it in 3 days
