This is #1 of a duet by CM Stunich and this the first book I have read by this author.

I picked this up thinking it was going to be a magical journey. It is not! It is extremely boring about MCs who sound like they are 16, far too long and has the most unsatisfying end. If it was supposed to be a cliffhanger, it was a really bad one and I definitely won't be reading #2

It has no backstory or resolution and if I hear the phrase Boba tea again, I'll scream!! By my mother's grave, there is nothing but dirt and two Cyprus trees standing sentinel, so I think Joe's grave and tree is fanciful!

The #dualnarratiom was good by new to me narrators, Vivienne Moon Kells and Keong Sim, bearing mind with what they had to work!

Deeply disappointed! 😔

I originally read this series when it first came out. I've since got the book and now I've bought the audio. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it as I usually get frustrated with a slow burn but I absolutely loved it
