This was a short and sweet story about fishing for trout. It really showed the passion for a topic that I've never really felt much excitement for and it really made me want to go fishing.
The narrator, Johnny Mack, was brilliant. It almost sounded like an extract from a memoir. It was very good.

I will admit my knowledge of fishing is pretty limited since I was raised in the city, but this book, “If a Fish is a Trout: A Love Story” touched me a way that frankly, I just wasn’t expecting. I was transported back to my childhood when I would listen to my grandfather tell me for hours on end about his love for fishing and about how he would wait all year for opening day. This story brought out all those feelings and while I may not know much about fishing, I know what love sounds like and Johnny Mack straight up convinced me that I actually wanted to go fishing. The writing and the narration were done in perfect harmony. It was so good in fact that I know I plan to play it for grandfather when I go home for the holidays. During the re-listen, I will continue to appreciate the story and the memories, and he will appreciate a shared love for fishing.
