Turning fifty was supposed to come with wisdom — not chin hairs, brain fog, and a body staging a quiet rebellion.

Marie thought she had life figured out: a marriage coasting along, a grown son making his own mistakes, and just enough control to keep the chaos at bay. Then came the hot flashes, the mood swings, and the late-night Google searches convincing her she might actually be losing it.

I’m 50 Now is a brutally honest, laugh-out-loud story about what happens when your hormones hijack your body, your identity feels MIA, and midlife forces you to confront every version of yourself — the one you miss, the one you’re becoming, and the one you swore you’d never be.

If you’ve ever cried over a yogurt commercial, cursed your shrinking jeans, or wondered when your body filed for divorce and forgot to send the paperwork — this book is for you.

Raw, relatable, and packed with humor, I’m 50 Now proves you’re not broken — you’re just evolving, one rogue chin hair at a time.

This book had me laughing, nodding, and sometimes wincing in recognition. Hitting 50 comes with its share of aches, surprises, and “nobody warned me about this” moments, and the author captures it all with humour and brutal honesty.

I loved the mix of comedy and truth—it’s the kind of book you can read in short bursts, but you’ll find yourself saying, yes, that’s exactly me! Perfect for anyone approaching or living through midlife who could use a laugh and a little camaraderie.

If you want a witty, lighthearted take on the realities of aging, this book is a gem.

This is such a great representation of many of the challenges that come with "aging" or just living over decades. It's real and messy, but the author manages to make things lighter, funnier, and relatable. It's freeing to some degree, offers hope and inspiration for what can be better. And the realness of the struggles can allow "outsiders" to better understand the experience and people who are going through it, to not feel so alone. This is well worth listening to and offers plenty of laughs to help you through the challenges.
