About this listen

Nerdy, introverted genius lepidopterist, Lawson Gale, is an expert on butterflies. He finds himself in a small town in Tasmania on a quest from an old professor to find an elusive species that may or may not even exist.

Local Parks and Wildlife officer, Jack Brighton, is an ordinary guy who loves his life in the sleepy town of Scottsdale. Along with his Border collie dog, Rosemary, his job, and good friends, he has enough to keep from being lonely.

But then he meets Lawson, and he knows he's met someone special. There's more to catching butterflies, Jack realizes. Sometimes the most elusive creatures wear bow ties, and sometimes they can't be caught at all.

Lawson soon learns there are butterflies he can't learn about it in books. They exist only in a touch, in a kiss, in a smile. He just has to let go first, so these butterflies can fly.

Imago is the story of finding love, bow ties, and butterflies.

Contains mature themes.

A decent story, if a little plodding and predictable at times. I found myself liking the main characters and I was at least interested enough to listen to the whole thing.

The narrator left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. There was not only a lack of differentiation between characters, there was also no difference between his reading of the story and that of the glossary at the beginning. There was almost no emotion shown at all throughout the story, despite the dramatic nature of the events being told.

Overall, not a listen I'd recommend

Story not bad, terrible narrator

I liked this story, but I felt that the narrator was wrong for it. The voices for each character was wrong and it turned out to be rather creepy.

Interesting story

The narrator sounded like he was reading a shopping list, but I persisted as the characters were interesting. The author's style has matured with later books

Unusual but endearing

I have other books performed by Antony Ferguson, I know he's good, that's why I was surprised by his performance on this one, the main characters' voices changed constantly, sometimes they have the same voice that wasn't his even the voices that he chose, and kept swapping, besides that, he has a beautiful voice!

Gripping story, I was charmed by the characters, the plot was really interesting, so romantic and really hot!!!
Congratulations to N.R. Walker!

When Lawson travels to Tasmania on a quest to find a butterfly that no one has ever seen, what he didn't expect is to find love. Jack loves his job as a Wildlife officer, travelling back from a conference al he wants to do is to get back home to his dog, but when he spots a bow tie wearing nerdy guy in trouble, there is something about him.
The instant attraction between Lawson and Jack. Lawson's no filter had me smiling and there was never a time that his intentions were misinterpreted. This was a sweet low angst read with loads of tender heartfelt scenes, one of my favourites involved a personal chef.
When this finished I did not want it to so I am glad I can carry on with their adventure

Sweet listen
