This is book 2 and you really need to read in order. It picks up straight from the cliffhanger. It’s a dark intense romance and advised you read trigger warnings. Left wanting the next book as another cliffhanger ending.

This is book 2 in the series and is so much darker than the first, I fully suggest you check the trigger warnings before listening. Also you need to listen to book 1 first as this starts just where the cliffhanger from book 1 left us.

This book is so good! The tension throughout has you on edge the whole time. Potential minor spoilers ahead so if you haven’t read/listened to book 1 don’t read this next part!

It picks up where laney and her men are attempting to walk to civilisation before winter sets in and are taken back to the house by the gun runners and held hostage. Can they manage to get away from them and get to safety without getting any more hurt?

I love this series and have read all the books but the narrators, Laurie west and Christian black do an amazing job of bringing the story to life and giving it a real depth of emotion and life to the characters, especially Christian who voices the multiple male roles bringing a unique tone and performance of each character so you really feel like each character is their own unique person.

A brilliant listen for anyone who enjoys taboo relationships, darker themes and a sense of adventure and a story full of tension and edge of the seat suspense.

Laney, Reed, Darius and Cade find themselves trapped with the gun runners wo use the cabin for their illegal activities, what brought them together maybe the thing that tears them apart? well written steamy taboo, emotions, and more, hold n tight for another cliffhanger!.
Audio review- the duet narrators of Laurie West and Christian Black truly bring the story to life, with depth of tone, making for an enjoyable listen.

Brilliant narration from Laurie West and Christian Black

This book will have you on your toes . It is full of drama , action and angst. A plane crash it was a great see how all the characters deal with want has happened and how the groups dynastic can change.
Full of twisted, and a rollercoaster of emotions.

Following their plane crash Laney has been surviving in the Canadian wilderness with her gorgeous step-brothers Darius and Cade, and her overprotective step-father Reed, in a cabin they'd found. But while trying to find civilisation instead of struggling through the winter they're caught by three armed gun-runners who own the cabin, and things take a turn for the worse.

Trapped back at the cabin with Cade unconscious after being hit over the head and guns being held to their heads, Darius and Reed try to do what they can to keep Laney safe; while she will do whatever she needs to do to keep all three of her men alive.

A well written story (all of Marissa's books are) with taboo why choose step-family troupes (age gap and step brothers), SA (please read the trigger warnings), brilliant chemistry between the characters, steam, tension, a battle for survival, twists and a cliff hanger. I can't wait to start the last in this series "Immoral Ties" to find out what happens to this family. This is dark and spicey and I really enjoyed listening to the story, with Laurie West bringing Laney to life and Christian Black bringing Reed, Darius and Cade to life.
