After the cataclysmic bombardment of asteroids destroyed all life on planet Earth, the 250,000 survivors of humanity sought sanctuary in Apollo City on the moon. Under the authoritarian rule of Governor Edmund Sears, art, science, and literature became the sole domain of the privileged.
