Maid cafés are cafés in which the waitresses dress in maid uniforms and treat the customers as if they were their "masters".
メイドカフェとは、メイドの制服を着たウェイトレスが、お客さんをまるで「ご主人さま」であるかのようにもてなしてくれるカフェです。
メイドカフェの第1号は、東京の秋葉原に2001年に誕生した「キュアメイドカフェ」だといわれています。
メイドカフェでは、男性客は「ご主人さま」、女性客は「お嬢さま」と呼ばれます。
軽食や飲み物のメニューは一般的なカフェと変わりませんが、フードにメイドさんがケチャップで絵を描いてくれたりと、普通のカフェにはないサービスが好評です。
そのほか、メイドさんとゲームで遊んだりライブを観賞できるなど、メイドさんとの楽しいふれあいが醍醐味ですが、カフェなので、メイドさんに触れたりするのはもちろんご法度です。
