As the name suggests, "manga kissa" are cafes stocked with lots of manga.
＂マンガ喫茶＂とは文字通り、マンガをたくさんそろえたカフェのこと。
マンガや雑誌を置いてある喫茶店は古くからありましたが、現在のように膨大な量のマンガを置くようになったのは、1990年代に入ってからです。
日本のマンガ喫茶の多くは席ごとに仕切りがあるか、個室になっています。
基本的にソフトドリンクは飲み放題で、料理のメニューも充実し、そのクオリティの高さも自慢です。
最近は海外のマンガを置いているところも多く、シャワー室や温泉、コインランドリーやマッサージチェアーなどのあるマンガ喫茶も増えています。
