 Akihabara is one part of Tokyo that has really changed a lot these days. 秋葉原は東京において、近年、その性格が劇的に変化した街のひとつです。
第二次世界大戦後、秋葉原には、電子部品を扱う店や家電量販店の前身が立ち並び始め、＂アキバ＂は、世界に名だたる＂電気街＂となったのです。
その後、コンピューターやゲームソフトの店が増えた秋葉原に、転機が訪れたのは1997年頃。
アニメキャラクターの格好をした女性が店員を務めるコスプレ喫茶などが続々オープンし、秋葉原は＂電気街＂から＂オタクの街＂に変貌しました。
