 Mt. Fuji is 3,776 meters high, and is Japan's highest mountain. 日本で最も高い標高3776ｍの富士山は、約10万年前に噴火活動を始めて以来、噴火のたびに新しい溶岩で＂トッピング＂され、どんどん大きくなっていきました。
そのため、実は富士山は＂4階建て＂。現在の姿になったのは5000年前です。
富士山に登れるのは毎年7月の「山開き」からわずか2ヵ月間ですが、期間中には20万人を超える人が登山を楽しみます。
ふもとには、富士山の神を祀った神社、5つの湖からなる富士五湖、透明度の高い池が集まった忍野八海、滝、夏でも涼しい地下の洞穴などがあります。
