but hated Harper's acquiescence and softness towards other people like her so called friend, Beth, narcissist at the least who just wants her realtor gains above friendship. her daughter omg walking into the big house and demanding the best room and mentioning it will all be hers when Harper dies. she just let everyone walk all over her like she wasn't worthy somehow. also I guess in the 60s and 80s even there was still tacit agreement that men should be pitied for their weaknesses and somehow it was all due to women that everything went wrong.
