Ripleys twin sister has assigned her a bodyguard to protect her from the chaos when she comes to her small town. Bodyguard. Well you got me at bodyguard and kept me with the chemistry and heat between the two main characters and a great supporting cast of friends, family and of course her twin Haven.

I listened to this on audible and the duet performed by Erin Mallon & JF Harding was fantastic. A great listen from Lauren Blakely

What’s not to like about a bodyguard/client romance trope. Ripley and Haven are identical twin sisters, Ripley runs a lavender farm and Haven is a rising film star.
When Banks meets Ripley in a bar they instantly connect and what should be a nice hook up turns bad when Banks thinks she’s her twin so ghosts her as his business has just won the contract to provide security for the new film Haven is starring in at Ripley’s farm.
When he’s assigned to protect Ripley from over eager photographers who think Haven and Co-star Chris are in a relationship, he realises instantly that she is the sister from before. When due to overcrowding Ripley has to share the cottage he’s staying in and one bed, well you just know what is going to happen.
When Haven falls for a bookstore owner they do a twin swap so, Haven can see her man. When Ripley and Haven go out together with their bodyguards, photographs emerge leading to Banks’s relationship being outed to the media.
When it looks like his business will suffer Ripley tries to protect him but after a ruthless photographer tries to harm her, he rushes to the rescue and rescues their HEA.

I love me a good Protector romance so this one was right up my street and it did not disappoint. Banks was swoony, fun, broody and a little bit broken. Ripley made him feel too much, too soon. When life puts them together not once, but twice, it’s a sign they need to follow their hearts but there’s only so much rejection one can take.
Add to this story some meddling small town and family and you get a great feel good book.
Let’s also not forget all the sassiness and ruggedness that Erin Mallon and JF Harding gave to the characters. They were chef’s kiss!

This was just what I needed! I love Lauren Blakely’s books, and this was another winner. Bodyguard romance is just the best, and Banks is amazing. So tough and protective, but kind and soft as well.
