James Henry Trotter is about to go on the adventure of a lifetime . . .

James lives with his awful Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker, two of the meanest people you can imagine!

Life isn't much fun at all, until something peculiar happens at the bottom of his garden . . .

A peach at the very top of a tree begins to grow . . . and grow . . . and GROW! Inside are seven very unusual insects - all waiting to take James on a magical journey.

But where will this very special GIANT PEACH take James and his new friends? And what will happen to his horrible aunts if they stand in their way?

Lovely memories of reading this book as a child and I was amazed at how good James Acaster was as a narrator - definitely something he should do more of in the future.

Who knew James Acaster would be such an excellent narrator?

This is a great, crazy story but just spoiled for me by the narration which has an accent that doesn't pronounce th sounds so erf worm and fifty free etc...It's too noticeable so I returned it. Dropping the g at the ends of the words too, although important if a child is listening, isn't so jarring so sadly, it was just the narrator's accent that let this down. His intonation and excitement in his voice is great.

Great classic story but poor diction
