Editor reviews

George Carlin's Grammy Award-winning Jammin' in New York, recorded over two days in 1992 at the Paramount Theater in New York, offers a hilarious snapshot of this crassly funny comic's sharp humor. Carlin's raspy-voiced delivery makes him seem the grouchy everyman, and his observations on America's warlike ways, the divisions amongst the various classes, and airport lingo all hit home. Though some of the current events, such as the Gulf War, may no longer be topical, many of the themes remain eerily relevant today, making it obvious why Carlin's humor is the stuff of legend.
