Summary
Charlotte Brontë's much-loved masterpiece is reimagined through the voice of Juliet Stevenson, who succeeds in capturing all the wit and charm of the original novel in her retelling.
The work tells the story of Jane's early life, her experience at Lowood School and as a governess. Her refusal to accept Rochester's love on any but her own strictly moral terms is a passionate cry for independence.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it has an excellent plot told in the first person. What other book might you compare Jane Eyre to, and why?
There is no other book which compares to it.What about Juliet Stevenson’s performance did you like?
She was so natural and every character was excellently portrayed.Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There is sadness and humour in the book.Any additional comments?
This has to be the best romance I've ever read. I particularly like the wedding ceremony and I'll never forget the first time I heard a dramatised production of it on the radio. I was looking forward to two people being joined in matrimony and - well, you'll find out when you listen to the book.Besides romance, however, there's mystery when Jane's at Thornfield Hall and I like the part when Jane's at Moor House and the struggle she eventually has whilst she's there.
I found the audio copy better than reading it, particularly as the girl Jane is teaching at Thornfield Hall is a French girl and if you're not a French speaking Person, as I'm not, reading the book can slow you down a bit.
A Timeless Classic Narrated by An Excellent Reader
