Summary

Ted Cornish thought he’d found the man of his dreams in Joshua Kade—charming, intelligent, and handsome—until disturbing rumors surface about Josh’s past. A decade earlier, Josh’s former boyfriend, Reggie Baker, was found stabbed to death in an alley in Chicago’s Boystown. Though Josh was never convicted, whispers of his involvement persisted.

True-crime podcaster Bailey Anderson is reopening the case, and the more he uncovers, the more he’s convinced Josh is the killer. Bailey reaches out to Ted for insight, and as Ted reflects on his relationship, he begins to see cracks in Josh’s perfect facade—jealousy, possessiveness, and violent outbursts that no longer match his sweet words.

As Ted spends more time with Bailey, the evidence against Josh mounts. But Bailey is more than just a podcaster—he’s Reggie’s brother, driven by grief and a relentless desire for justice.

When Ted finally confronts the terrifying possibility that Josh is guilty, Josh reacts with a violent threat that sends Ted into hiding. Torn between fear, love, and loyalty, Ted must choose between exposing the truth or confronting the man he thought he loved—before it’s too late.

Jealous of the Clouds is a heart-pounding psychological thriller about love, obsession, and the dangerous pursuit of justice.

I am a fan of Rick R. Reed’s books. They keep me entertained without having to concentrate on each sentence.

This is one of those. Ted is a guy who feels he has found his one but things start making him pay attention and he wonders if he really knows Josh. Josh is one of those stalker types. He pushes till there is no further to go. Ted is being forced to face things and with the help of Karl and Camille the truth comes out. This story had a couple twists that caused me pause and the ending with Josh’s sister isn’t anything I expected.

The narration by David Allen Vargo was perfect for this story. The sound effects gave the story a premium background.

I was sucked in from the very start til the very end. I could not stop listening and finished it in one night. This was mystery focused with romance in the background between 3 men. One who won't let his bf leave him when he starts to question how his previous lover died. The one that doesn't know if his bf of 6 weeks is guilty but doesn't want to get involved and wants to leave and a third man who is the dead exes brother who wants to prove he's guilty and help save another of his victims. I love a good murder mystery and this one did not disappoint. I kept trying to guess what was the truth and nothing could have prepared me for the outcome. I love when there's a great plot twist and everything changes and I'm surprised to find out the guilty is. The ending was fantastic. This author writes wonderful stories that always seem to catch me off guard. I enjoyed all the characters in this and found the romance believable enough as the 2 trauma bonded.

The Narration was great. The narrator had a pleasant voice to listen to and kept a good pace/flow. He expressed all the emotions and brought the story to life. He gave each of the characters their own distinct voice that suited each of them perfectly. Not just the main characters but all of the side characters as well. I would absolutely recommend this narrator.

Soo good. Kept me guessing

Reread as audiobook. An excellent new to me narrator, with wonderful sound effects (like the podcast intro).
Story - a mystery with a lot of suspense. There was a lot packed into a shorter book. A few interesting plot twists and dangerous situations kept the tension high throughout. There wasn't really any romance involved here, but there was good potential and a definite HEA mentioned at the end of the epilogue.

This story had me on the edge of my seat for most of it. Rick R. Reed kept me guessing until the very end. Psychological thrillers are not my usual choice to read but I love the ones that Rick writes.

David Allen Vargo was the perfect choice to perform this one. I love how the sound effects and distinct voices he used helped me to visualize the story. It was as if there were multiple performers instead of only one.

Gripping!
