About this listen

Read by the author.

The phrase “cleanliness is next to godliness” isn’t found in the Bible. Your house can never be good enough to please God—not because you can’t scrub it or declutter hard enough, but because that is never what He was looking for in the first place. Join Dana K. White, author of Decluttering at the Speed of Life, as she works through removing the shame associated with having a messy home and reveling in the grace and love of our Savior.

This book is for you, if no matter how competent you feel in other parts of your life, you still feel overwhelmed and defeated by your messy home. While it’s true that keeping a clean and organized living space can contribute to a sense of peace and well-being, it should never be equated with your worth, moral standing, or what Jesus thinks about you.

Dana K. White, trusted by millions for her no-holds-barred cleaning confessions and practical decluttering method wants to:

  • remove any shame or identity crisis associated with disorganization
  • help you understand God's love and purposeful design for you that is much bigger than any mess in your house.

Sharing relatable stories, biblical teaching, and practical life application, Dana will help you find a sense of freedom, acceptance, and a deeper understanding of God's love and purpose for you and your house.

Dana has to be a long lost sister that I never knew about, I relate so much to her and think this book is just brilliant. The grace and love in her words are just straight from the heart of God and have such impact, it’s a must read if you want to be free from the grip of shame. whether it’s because like Dana and I you struggle to keep your house under control or if it’s something else, there is something here for you. Thank God for Dana K. White.

A life enhancing read.

sparked interesting reflections about use of shame to control people and the standards put apon women. I'm agnostic and appreciate the role spiritually plays in life. anything that might decouple shame and the church is welcome. I did often think that Christian and other spiritual writings are not concerned with mundane human struggles but rather wider metaphysical concepts. I liked all Dana's other books and have got something out of each. decluttering at the speed of life and the similar books are the ones I've played more than once

concept was explained well

I knew from her podcasts that Dana is religous, and I mean Jesus is in the title, and it does say it is about religion in the descripton, but honestly, I did not think it would be that concentrated. I have loved all her other books, but I really had to force mysellf to keep listening to the end of this one, in hope of finding some golden nuggets regarding cleaning, which did not come. If you don't believe in God, I would recommend all her other books, but not this one.

Jesus Christ!
