After beginning a career in psychiatric nursing, Jo Brand moved to the alternative comedy stand-up scene with early performances on Saturday Live and later appearing in the likes of The Brain Drain and Jo Brand Through the Cakehole. Brand is the author of four novels and is currently the presenter of The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, and her latest book, Born Lippy, was published in October 2018.

In this interview, Jo Brand talks to us about topics from the Spice Girls to the Kardashians - covering hitchhiking, media portrayals and the taboo of death along the way.

Jo Brand has always been an up and down woman for me but I've always liked her more than disliked her. That said, this interview has made me want to read her book, when asked if there was anything she wouldn't have done, her response was almost exactly the same as mine.
I'm very much looking forward to hearing her book.
