About this listen
Some lessons in love leave scars.
Their love was forged in shadows—but now the darkness wants to tear them apart.
Aaron Jones never expected to find love—not real love, not the kind that wasn’t twisted by his family’s monstrous legacy. But with Dr Kenneth Lyons, his sharp-minded, rule-breaking professor, he’s found something close to hope. Their relationship is a fragile, forbidden thing, hidden behind locked doors and stolen touches, but it’s his. And maybe—just maybe—it’s real. If only Kenny would say the words first, then Aaron could finally believe in them.
Kenny has spent his life keeping control, maintaining the careful balance between his dark fascinations and the polished mask he wears for the world. But his secret relationship with Aaron is a dangerous line to cross, balancing him on the edge of ruin. Their passion has already blurred the edges of his morality, shattering every ethical rule he swore to uphold. And yet, nothing—no consequence, no fear—is more terrifying than losing him.
But someone wants to tear them apart.
A new predator is lurking in the shadows. One who knows the darkest corners of Aaron’s past, the secrets he keeps even from Kenny. And this killer isn’t just hunting victims; they’re playing a game. A game where Aaron is the prize, and Kenny is the target.
As the bodies pile up, mirroring the horrors of Aaron’s childhood, the past claws its way into the present. Every clue drags them deeper into the nightmare, forcing them to question how far they’re willing to go to survive—and to stay together. Because in the end, love might not be enough to save them.
But obsession? That just might be.
Killing Me Softly is the breathtaking conclusion to the To Love a Psycho trilogy. A story of love defying the rules, of madness and desire, of a bond that might just be as dangerous as the darkness closing in.

The characters are all in play and the stakes are pushed to the limit. The way it plays out is nerve racking. The ending was perfect. The letter and the dog are special touches.
The narration by Piers Ryman brought the edginess out perfectly.
Edgy

Killing Me Softly as a finale gave me everything I needed from it: closure to the overall Aaron's family story that provided soooo much excitement on the criminal front, beautiful characters growth for both Aaron and Kenny (more on that below), the absolute and total need for MORE!
Both Aaron and Kenny were typical representations of CF Whites amazing talent at creating complex, wounded characters that you just want to wrap in bubble wrap and serve hot chocolate for eternity. I was amazed at how both of them grew throughout the story and how the development of their relationship was written into their identities. It takes a lot of thought to create such a riveting journey through an emotional minefield! We get the HEA, but it's hard earned for sure. Well worth the 3 - book time span the author gave them to figure things out.
I definitely need more of them in my life, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for more glimpses into their heads!
Narration: I don't know how many praises I can sing to Piers Ryman's talent and consider it enough. The way his acting gives life to the characters and elevates the emotions is nothing short of perfection. Together with CF White they truly are the perfect duo!
Perfection. Pure perfection.

You must listen to these books in series order or else you won’t really understand what all is going on.
Fans of this series know that there is one more story coming for Aaron and Kenny but they get their hard-won HEA by the end of this one.
Fantastic conclusion to the trilogy!

Story - 4.5 stars. Third book in this series, and full of suspense. While it was fairly clear who the "bad people" were, how the plots twisted and where the dangerous situations came from were not so predictable. The psychological terms felt well researched and added a lot to these beautifully complex characters.
A wonderful series.
excellent
