Summary

Like Solomon with his magic ring, famed Austrian ethologist Konrad Lorenz was a gifted student of the animal world. King Solomon's Ring, which brought him worldwide recognition, is a delightful collection of observations and insights into the lives of our furry and feathered friends, from our familiar furry companions to water shrews and jackdaws. A must listen for any animal lover.

One of the first and still one of the most important books ever written on ethology and the chap reading can't pronounce "mallard" or "cormorant", to take just two examples from the first two minutes (and it doesn't improve from there). Never by a duck pond or on a beach have I met someone who mispronounced either of these words so God alone knows where they dig up these narrators.

Pitiful narration

A strong Southern English accent. The narrator misplaces word stress and doesn't read fluently. He stumbles and doesn't understand what he's reading. He ruined a Nobel Prize winner's book!

pīpuW, this is a bad igzāmpuW !

Enjoyed the book, obviously from a different time and perspective but the narration was so odd. The narrator pronounced lots of words wrong, even common words so it was a bit distracting at times.

Really good book but weird narration...

This wonderful classic of animal behaviour is completely ruined by the most bizarre pronunciation of so many words.

Awful narration
