About this listen

He had everything he could've wanted . . . except her.

Dangerous. Powerful. Reclusive.

Vuk Markovic is notorious for shunning human interactions. The scarred billionaire rarely talks, and he has no interest in relationships outside his small but trusted circle.

His only exception? Her. The beauty to his beast, the object of his obsession.

He saw her first. He wanted her first. But now, she's engaged to his oldest friend-and the closer the wedding looms, the more he's torn between loyalty and desire.

She should be his . . . and he might just risk it all to have her.

***

Beautiful. Successful. Glamorous.

To the world, supermodel Ayana Kidane leads the perfect life. Her career has skyrocketed, and she's engaged to one of New York's most eligible bachelors.

What people don't know is that the engagement is only a business arrangement. He gets his inheritance when they marry; she gets the money she needs to leave her abusive agency.

Pretending to be in love should be easy-until she finds herself increasingly drawn to her fiancé's enigmatic best man.

Vuk thrills and terrifies her in equal measure. She knows she should stay away, but when her wedding is thrown into chaos, he's the only person who makes her feel safe...

Until his past catches up with them and threatens everything they love.

Honestly? This is easily one of the best in the Kings of Sin series. Vuk and Ayana? Soulmates, no question. Ana went back to her roots with this one—morally grey, broody, intense men (Twisted fans, you get it)—and I was so here for it. I listened to the audiobook while doing immersive read and it was so worth it. The narrators? Absolute perfection. Jason Clarke nailed Vuk’s accent and gave so much depth to his voice, and Nia Serge was a dream—her narration of Ayana was like honey. Literally addictive. The story follows Vuk Markovic—a reclusive, scarred billionaire who doesn’t let many people in. He rarely speaks and opts to use sign language instead of actually talking (which is great to see that all the main characters speak sign language so they can communicate with him), avoids relationships, and stays loyal to his tight inner circle. Except when it comes to her. Ayana. He saw her first. Wanted her first. But now? She’s engaged to his best friend. And as the wedding gets closer, the line between loyalty and obsession blurs. Ayana Kidane is stunning, successful, and seemingly living the dream as a supermodel with the perfect fiancé. Except the engagement is fake—a business deal so he can claim an inheritance, and she can buy her way out of a controlling agency. She never expected to fall for her fiancé’s best friend. Especially not him. Vuk both terrifies and thrills her, and when things spiral, he’s the only one she runs to. But when Vuk’s past catches up with them, everything is at risk. The plot? So good. It struck the perfect balance—nothing dragged, nothing felt rushed. I loved every moment. And the cameos? Yes please. We get familiar faces from the Twisted series, earlier Kings of Sin books, and even a cheeky nod to Asher from The Striker. I love that Ana ties all her books together—it makes the universe feel so alive. Also, can we talk about Jordan? The fiancé. He was actually a gem?? No bitterness, no tantrums—just handled the whole thing like a grown-up. Loved that. The spice was definitely there—hot, but not overdone. It wasn’t all about the steam; it added to the characters and their emotional development. It just fit. Oh, and Vuk’s nicknames for Ayana?? Dead. If I could physically swoon at a nickname in another language, I would. Also, there’s a cat. And it’s amazing and so funny. I just love it, like the cat has its own personality. Final thoughts? Loved it. Highly recommend. And that ending was so satisfying—it tied everything together perfectly. I’m already counting down the days for the next book.

I loved how this was all done, now all I have to do is find the audio book for the bonus. I loved it! A shame we don’t get to see the wedding but I predict that will happen in "King Of Gluttony"

All of it!

I didn’t know Ana Huang had it in her to write, what I would consider to be a light dark romance. It’s a nice change from the other books in the series, a lot darker than the others but it complements the main characters as they are not as light hearted as the others in this series. I loved the yearning and depth of the mmc. I love the bond the fmc has with her family and the good influence she has on the mmc.

Dark, tense, spicy

I Loved the story of Vuk and Ayana...and it came alive with the Duet Style (Male reads male parts, female reads female). It was definitely a slow burn (which are the best kinds of romance stories) but when they realised they where meant to be 🔥🔥🔥🔥. The voice actor's did such an incredible job...use the credit.

I was Captivated

I love all of Anas books and this one is one of the best! I enjoyed learning more and more about the mysterious Vuk!
The narrators did a great job, perfect voices and perfect performance.
I enjoyed the story, the twists and turns and the HEA. I putted off listening as there are no books left in the series and I want mooooore! I can’t cope that this is the last in the series for now!

Great romance
