A Horus Heresy: Primarchs novel

Few among the legendary primarchs are as feared as Konrad Curze, the Night Haunter. Even before his fall to darkness, he was a sinister legend, a remorseless killer. This is his story.

Listen to it because:

The Night Haunter is a fascinating character, a man who could have been a hero, but for the daemons that plague him, the result of his nightmarish visions of a future he helps to create. Guy Haley delves into this lord of the night, in a story you'll never forget…

The story:

Of all the Emperor’s immortal sons, the primarchs, it is Konrad Curze whose legend is the darkest. Born in the shadows of Nostramo, a world of murderers, thieves and worse, is it any surprise that he became the figure of dread known only as the Night Haunter? Heed now the tragic story of the creature Konrad Curze, master of the Night Lords Legion, of how he became a monster and a weapon of terror. He who once served the Imperium saw the truth in a maddening universe and the hypocrisy of a loveless father, and embraced the only thing that made any sense - darkness. From the blood-soaked gutters of his hiveworld upbringing, to the last days of his ill-fated existence, Curze is a primarch like no other and his tale is one to chill the very bone....

Finally, Harley has fleshed out the Night Haunter and given him the epic he deserves. Here, Kurze is a tragic, complex figure who deserves understanding and yet there's no misguided attempt to evoke pity. It's a difficult needle to thread but Haley does it with finesse. Various threads of Kurze's life are examined and woven into a fabulous tale, and there is indeed one hell of ending. Credit also to Jonathan Keeble who is the only voice that does the Heresy series justice.

Shut it Kurze!

An excellent insight into Curze and remains focused on him throughout, only using other characters as a framing reference for him and not getting totally sidetracked as other Primarch novels have. Thoroughly recommend

One of the best Primarch novels

People think they know the mind of Konrad Curze, the Nighthaunter of Nostramo but oh my they haven't even scratched the surface.

From his beginnings as the monster stalking the streets to his inevitable famous death we see a different side to this broken mind.

You'll laugh and shudder through this book as parts are revealed to, arguably the worst Primarch, we have never seen. Truly one of the best Primarch novels to date and it's for a traitor to boot! Jonathan Keeble outshines himself once again adding the polish we would expect from his skill.

The purity of madness

ok, so I've gone through every Heresy book and this is up there with Angel exterminatus and The Betrayer, it is the perfect Conrad Curze book, it goes into detail for his motives to the point you almost feel sorry for him... almost.

God damn this was good
