She will not be the same as when she left

Fire and Shadows

Scarlett Semiria sacrificed everything to keep her family, her Courts, and her twin flame safe. But the cost was more than she could have ever anticipated. And now she finds herself once again forced to make a terrible choice that could leave her so broken, even the stars won’t be able to bring her back.

Light and Dark

Crown Prince Callan is more than happy to leave the Fire Court behind, along with the woman who chose someone else. But to protect his people and his kingdom, he is forced to enter into a dangerous deception that could cost him everything.

Beginnings and Endings

Fae Queen Talwyn Semiria has been waiting for decades for Scarlett to return home. She had expected to find a kindred spirit. What she got was a brash assassin who does things her own way and flouts all traditional decorum. She might play nice for now, but when faced with the evil that resides across the sea, she’ll take it all and sacrifice everything.

Everything hangs in the balance

A good baseline story. At times the characters can be a little annoying. But overall a good listen.

Good Base story

I’m really enjoying this story now & found this book the best yet! I do find the FMC very immature & childish at times.. and the bickering between adults can be tedious & unnecessary. But overall the character development was great & a few twists I didn’t see coming especially towards the end.

A great story progression

This is definitely a strong 4 star read! It made up for the last book!

The ending hurt so so bad! Which is why I am already listening to book 4 soon as I finished this one 😩
I do love Scarlett and Sorin relationship. I am getting more frustrated with Scarlett with one minute badass then next minute just totally helpless which is getting abit bored now but I don’t know if that’s just me 🤷‍♀️

I love the relationship between everyone in the inner court 🥹 mainly between Scarlett and Cyrus. Does anyone else??

These books are so long and I feel like some parts are not necessary but I feel like the narrators make it so much better.

I am so invested with this series and I’m going through it so quickly that I thought I was going to! Even though these books are huge 😂
Definitely would recommend 🥰🩶

Oooooh

Although I enjoyed the first book in this series, my interest steadily declined with each sequel. I tried to persevere, but ultimately I had to DNF this one, and I won't be continuing with the series. The only real positive for me was the narrator, who did an great job with the material. Unfortunately, there is very little meaningful character development. I found the main female character particularly frustrating. There's a significant difference between being strong-willed and simply behaving childishly, and too often she came across as petty and immature. The constant bickering became exhausting, the plot barely moved forward, and the characters continued to keep pointless secrets from one another. The previous books contained some of these issues, but this instalment takes them to an extreme. By the end, I was more irritated than invested, and I genuinely wish I hadn't used a credit on it.

Do not bother
