About this listen

Fourteen-year-old Leven Thumps lives a wretched life in Burnt Culvert, Oklahoma. But his life is about to change and his destiny be fulfilled as he learns about a secret gateway that bridges two worlds -- the real world and Foo, a place created at the beginning of time in the folds of the mind that makes it possible for mankind to dream and hope, aspire and imagine.

But Foo is in chaos, and three transplants from that dream world have been sent to retrieve Leven. Their mission: to convince Leven Thumps that he alone has the unique power to save Foo. Can Leven even find the gateway in time? Will belief overcome doubt? Will fate make up the difference?

This unabridged production performed by E.B. Stevens, using more than two dozen character voices, is a story about courage, destiny, and the power of believing one's self. Welcome to Foo!©2006 Obert Skye. All rights reserved; (P)2006 Shadow Mountain. All rights reserved.

this is a lovely story, but the narrator lets it down. He sounds like he is trying waaaay to hard to make it interesting, rather than letting the story speak for itself. almost like he speaks every line in a tone that should amaze you. gets annoying.

I’m very sorry but after about an hour I just had to give up on this one. Loved the idea of the story, but just couldn’t listen to the narrator. To me it sounded like he was reading to a primary school class. I will probably get the book on kindle and read it myself.

Just couldn’t listen......

My boys loved this story and so did I. Great as thrilling and captivating without being too scary or gruesome for young ears. Funny and charming
