About this listen

If you want to make sure that your teen can breeze through “adulting” before they leave the nest, then keep listening….

Take a hard look at your kid right now: Exactly how many chores around the house can they do without supervision?

Can they take care of themselves when they get sick or injured? Or find their way back if they get lost? Or handle an emergency?

Do you think they can live on their own, or are you quite unsure about their future situation?

Don’t fret–you are not alone in your dilemma. According to a poll, six in ten parents worry that their teenage children lack essential life skills.

But first, what are life skills? Simply put, these are skills that prepare an individual to live independently and productively within a society. They include everything from paying taxes and managing money to applying for a job and actually getting it and even maintaining good personal hygiene.

Whether you’re located in the US, the UK, or anywhere in the world, this guide will help your teen navigate the complexities and challenges of the great big world.

Inside, here is just a small fraction of what you will discover:

  • 80+ essential life skills your teen should know now

I agree with the author that when you raise your child, your teens will take on a greater responsibility sooner or later. I ask myself questions like, can they live on their own?, or are they quite unsure about their future situation? They need to adapt things to help them make great decisions. They should never lie but engage in social activities, reading, exercise, and staying healthy. They need to learn how to solve problems, overcome stress, and make daily decisions. This will help them become more than you. They can learn how to cook by reading cookbooks or listening to audiobooks. I thank this audiobook for the tips.
