Summary

'Deeply empathetic and profoundly unsettling, this is contemporary crime fiction at its finest' - Dinuka McKenzie

Corinne Gray is a woman whose life is falling apart. When probationary detective Kyle Nazarian unexpectedly knocks on her door on a rainy morning, she knows why. He wants to talk about her son, Ben. This is her chance to finally explain how her sweet-natured child – who loved history and dreamed of swimming for Olympic Gold – grew up to do the unthinkable. What really happened to Ben? And could anyone have prevented it?

Desperate for justice, Corinne has poured herself into uncovering the sinister figures behind her son's actions and the shadowy online communities that prey on vulnerable young people. Kyle, meanwhile, is grappling with his own personal crisis both at home and at work. Torn between his duties and a growing sympathy for Corinne, Kyle must decide how far he's willing to go to help her.

We Need to Talk About Kevin meets None of This Is True in this shattering and provocative psychological thriller that dives into the darkest corners of the internet and the powerful bonds between parents and children, from the bestselling author of Dark Mode.

A must read drama, extremely clever storytelling layered with insights into incel culture and the Armenian genocide, which i must admit I wasn’t aware of. A very well told story, brilliantly narrated. Will check out more of the author’s books.

Both the narration and writing were excellent, and this was a truly gripping tale. Touched on some scary concepts of today’s world.

I really enjoyed Like, Follow, Die — it’s one of those books that hooks you early and keeps you thinking long after you’ve finished. The narration was excellent, bringing the story to life and adding real depth to the characters and tension.

The plot itself is gripping and full of twists; just when you think you’ve worked it out, it takes another turn. It’s genuinely engaging from start to finish, with a pace that never drags.

What I particularly liked was the historical angle woven into a very modern setting. It gave the story an extra layer and made the commentary on today’s world feel even more compelling and relevant.

Overall, a smart, twisty, and thoroughly entertaining read — definitely one I’d recommend.

Really enjoyed this. Especially as it was included in the membership. A bit of a different angle on the storyline. Very good.

this was such a good, though awful, story. the characters were very real, very human, very tragic. it was a brilliant whodunit as well, and inba bittersweet way, left you feeling satisfied. the author's note at the end is a must! this book, though fiction, will stay with me ; it's too close to reality to forget.

a haunting reflection of society today
