Summary
A-list singing superstar, Honey Diamond, has it all - the albums, the talent shows, the upcoming Hollywood film.
But it’s her gentle light, endearingly shining through all the glitz and glam, that warms the hearts of so many.
A shy girl, who’s only ever known fame, born into a world that’s not true to life.
Will Honey ever experience the love she so knowingly sings about? Will the vindictive online gossip sites ever leave her alone?
Lost in the Starlight is the latest heartfelt romance from best-selling, award-winning author, Kiki Archer, peppered with her trademark laugh-out-loud humor and warming observations about falling in love.

The IKEA trip in particular had me chucking to myself, ingenious and very funny! I really enjoyed the premise to this book, a shining treasured celebrity and a journalist/gossip columnist/fan who couldn’t believe her luck!
It’s absolutely worth a read (or listen) if you’re looking for something light hearted, funny and enjoyable
Overall, I found this to be a very well written book carrying all the hallmarks of a Kiki Archer smasher and I can’t wait to devour the next one on my list!
Laugh out loud funny!

Beautifully narrated by Ella Lynch, the main characters are instantly likeable, and the supporting cast amusing - especially Svetti and Kunzi (forgive the spelling). The plot not too complex, but the ideas on privacy and media intrusion do give one pause for thought...
And a happy ending? Well, why not let Kiki lead you into her world for a few hours and find out!
Fun and full of warmth.

I ended up very conflicted about Lost in the Starlight. I usually really enjoy Kiki Archer’s books because they tend to balance humour, warmth, and chemistry so well, but this one just didn’t work for me in the same way.
The narration by Ella Lynch was genuinely solid and probably the main reason I kept going. She gave the characters distinct personalities and did her best with the emotional material. Unfortunately, the story itself became frustrating enough that I almost gave up several times. I actually paused the audiobook on three separate occasions and only came back hoping my feelings about it would change.
What made it difficult was the dynamic around the main character. She felt so controlled and emotionally stunted throughout much of the book that it became exhausting rather than engaging. The mother was deeply unlikeable in a way that overshadowed the story for me, and the Swedish massage therapist somehow managed to be even worse. Instead of creating tension or growth, those relationships often just made me uncomfortable and annoyed.
There were still moments where Kiki Archer’s usual charm peeked through, and I can see what the book was aiming for emotionally, but I never fully connected with the characters or the romance. By the end, I felt more relieved to finish than satisfied.
I’d probably land somewhere around 2.5 to 3 stars overall — not terrible, but definitely disappointing compared to the author’s other books.
Love Kiki Archers books, this not so much
