I listened to the ladies room and thoroughly enjoyed it so was happy to explore some more novels by the same author. The basics are similar;elderly relative dies and leaves property of unexpected wealth to single lady who moves in and falls in love with her new neighbour who was great friends with the old lady. But where the ladies room was very funny/witty and empowering with very likeable protagonists, this one had me squirming and suffocating under the weight of codependency. It was presumably intended to be heady and passionate but I couldn't see it through, it had me craving space and singledom with a slightly icky feeling every time I listened.
