Wayne Liversidge - Love’s Poison.

Narrated in the main by the author. Always a winner for me. No one knows the story like they do.

This is a quick read, but it packs a punch.

Jim meets Jenny on a blind date. It’s an instant attraction for them both and things quickly progress between them.
It all seems so perfect, but of course perfection doesn’t exist.

#Love’sPoison is based on the author’s true life experience.
It’s a moving account of addiction and the impact it has on not only the addict, but also the people who love them the most and want nothing more than to help them to a better place.

I enjoyed this book. Jim is a likeable bloke who has a big heart.
Jenny is a complex character, who seems to struggle to live up to peoples expectations of her.
Unfortunately she seeks the answers in all the wrong places.

This book was easy to get into and captured my interest immediately.
I wanted to know what was happening with these characters and I wanted a good outcome for them.

Wayne Liversidge has written his story well. His writing is solid and flows easily.

As a novella, this is indeed a cracking read.
If I’m honest, and this is just my opinion, I dropped a star because this book could have been so much more.
It could easily have been written into a much fuller book. The basics are all there, but I wanted to know more.
More history, more feelings and emotions, more about the raw reality of addiction and more about what happened next.
Like I said, this is entirely my opinion, and at the end of the day, what do I know?

#Love’sPoison is well worth a read. It’s hard hitting, emotional, tragic, poignant and thought provoking.

I’d love to see this filled out into a longer novel.
As it stands, it’s a fast read, but a damn good one.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fast but powerful read.

Love's poison grips you from the first chapter as it decends into a deep, emotional tale of a couple struggling with alcoholism. The story is delivered beautifully and really immerses you into the trials and tribulations of love, denial, recovery, and loss.

An intense story of love and loss

A whirlwind read which took me on a rollercoaster of emotions.. I especially like how the tragedy unfolds. I loved that it's raw and real. A warning about human frailty and how appearances can be deceptive, Very moving.

A gripping emotional read

Wow! What a story! So short, but so raw and true! I’ve lived with someone who had the same problem and totally felt all of your emotions/trauma.
This book was very short but wow did it a pack a punch. Loved that the author did the narration, you really can feel every emotion.
I’m left feeling quite emotional and thoughtful. I think this book could have so much more depth as I’m sure the author has far more to tell (but that’s his choice and maybe he’s not ready quite yet). I would highly recommend this book.
I wish the author all the luck with future books as I believe he has the ability to capture an audience. I also wish him all the best for his future.
