Oh, dear, this sort of graphic novel but without pictures presentation just doesn't work for me. Some neat ideas buried in here but so overwhelmed by the blatant Christian propaganda emerging through the mass of (in no particular order) alien migrants, conspiracy theories, protesters, police tape, traffic jams and self driving cars, underground overground tunnels (made me instantly think 'Wombles') synchronized sleeping meditation, telepathy, the President, and experimentation at Area 51. Oh, and Satan - mustn't forget Satan. And although the lines were trite, some were really very amusing, too, like, 'Interstellar travel used to be out of this world'. There's a lot packed in there. But I just did not like the heavy handed presentation.
The story moved quickly. And the Narration by Richard Travis was fast paced, also, but was jerky rather than smooth and some of the sections ran straight from the one before, without pause. But in a strange way, it fitted the text, rather adding to my alienation!
My thanks to the rights holder who freely gifted me with a complimentary copy at my request, but I did not enjoy this audiobook and it was not what I had been expecting. Looking at earlier reviews, I see that I stand almost alone in this regard. I did like Slob, though, the giant slug like alien: I wish there had been more of him.
