About this listen

At the end of Hawthorn Close, there is a charming park which boasts two magnificent magnolia trees, and an assortment of houses and apartments. As part of the local council's commitment to a more diverse tenancy in the area, several new occupants are moving into the neighbourhood. Amongst them is Brett, a former foster child; Natalie, who is escaping an abusive ex-partner; and recently widowed Reid who, at 75, is trying to find happiness again.

From the cottages and farms to the local shop, pub and old manor house, residents' lives are set to intertwine, relationships bloom and both romance and heartache lie ahead.

Very enjoyable couldn’t stop listening to this the 3rd book in the series. Was sad when it finished I still wanted more but I love a happy ending.

Another great listen from the master story teller, Anna Jacobs. Julia Barrie does a brilliant job of the narration too.

I always enjoy Anna Jacob’s books but please can we have a different narrator. She isn’t as good as the others by far. Very monotonous voice and not good at the various accents.

Poor narrator

Fantasy island this book should have been called. As if the police of today would go to all the trouble of getting a private room in a hospital or smuggling a domestic abuse victim out in a hospital Landry van. Sorry Anna this book is definitely not one your best. And the narrator, I couldn't keep awake. Such a monotone voice.

Don't waste a credit.
