Summary

Originally published in 1981.

Capstick will stun you with these true accounts of the most notorious and often unexpected maneaters from around the world. After listening to them, you'll think again about that docile elephant in the zoo, or about deadly piranha escaping into Florida's waterways. Your nightmares will be complete when you read about the greatest maneater of all the cannibal including such civilized legends as Jeremiah Johnson!

With the style and wit that have made Capstick the acclaimed heir to Hemingway and Ruark, he again delivers a masterpiece of true adventure that's almost as scary as being there.

The author seems to be an overly emotional former hunter who has a hatred towards animals, the book is essentially his justification for his career. His condescending way of writing about animals and conservationists is juvenile and uneducated.
