if you like the MCU, then this book is a must; it portrays Thanos is a good way, and you get to understand the character from Infinity War a little better.

Would recommend for fans of Msrvel.

Really enjoyable

A brillant character study, both horrifying and fascinating at the same time.

I'd recommend you watch all the MCU movies before listening to this title. It contains major spoilers for key moments in the MCU and it enhances the story, which is full of nods, subtle and otherwise, to Thanos's later actions and you start the story with just enough foreknowledge to make you feel uncomfortable, almost like you're reading the biography of a serial killer, which is exactly the level of dread and foreboding you need to start this story with, only for the dread and tension to build, as Thanos slowly transforms into the mad Titan.

The cycling nature of the segments told directly from Thanos, help to provide great closure to what would othewise be a very abrupt ending. The delivery was flawless and the story is structured in such a way, that it provides plenty of insight into Thanos, without making him too heroic. He is expertly painted like any real life person, anyone no matter how warped, still has someone they care about or at least thiink they do. Thanos is given the kind of backstory that is similar to those amongst committers of real world atrocities, which makes his descent to madness more realistic, relatable and chilling.

There are many who walked away from Infinty War thinking Thanos is a hero, he is not and this story goes to great length to show that. True, there are a number of moments where you're sympathetic towards him but there are an equal number of moments, maybe more, where he'll disgust you. Acts of brutal violence are perpetrated by Thanos to an increasing degree throughout the story, which help track his downfall, but comparatively there are more moments where we see Thanos in his quieter moments.

The language used really sounds like you're hearing the inner thoughts of Thanos, without comprimising the third person perspective, which helps you also understand the perpectives of other characters. This along with following Thanos through quiet periods in his life, allows us to empathise with and understand him, even if you don't agree with his actions. However, when the story dwells on action scenes and violence they are drawn out, in a good way, realistic within the realms of the MCU, small scale, most big battles aren't deeply described, and the smaller battles are described in an extremely graphic manner, which I liked, but it won't be to everyones taste and makes this strictly for older fans. This is reinforced by the complex language and difficult moral issues covered.

I think this will be an enjoyable listen for people who enjoyed the Netflix MCU shows as well as the MCU movies. The plot takes some surpising turns which is impessive, considering you more or less know where and how Thanos will end up if you have seen the movies.

I honestly would call this a masterpeice, my congratulations to everyone involved.

I really enjoyed this origins story. I listened to this audiobook and then watched Avengers infinity war which made me look at Thanos in a whole a new light. I don’t think it will, but this story would make an awesome film!

That was great!
