What did you like most about Matilda?

I love every bit of the book. It's thoroughly entertaining and Kate Winslet was spectacular.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Matilda?

Several. I love Mrs Trunchball's encounter in class with smart Nigel 'unless-you-want my-middle-name' Hicks; the part where Lavender put the newt in her cup of water, and of course Matilda.

I think this is the best of Roald Dahl's books.

What about Kate Winslet’s performance did you like?

Everything, she made all the parts come to life.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed all the way through.

I really appreciate that there is a musical 🎶 as well as the actual book and audio book 📕
I don’t always understand what they are saying but otherwise I will listen to it as much as I can
I recommend it to anyone who is interested in
Roald Dahl or magic 🪄 I love this book but I can’t read it very often because everyone in the household is in LOVE with it so I think we should get lots of copies of the book so we can all read it

I love the musical 🎶

The greatest audiobook I’ve ever listened to - and I’ve listened to a lot. Of course, it’s a great story. But a great story does not a great audiobook make. The secret here? Kate Winslet. Of course, she lauded as the greatest actress of her generation and I’ve lost count of her Oscar nominations. But even with that in mind, this audio experience is astonishing. Her characterisations, her accents, her voices - truly fabulous. And, having gone to primary school in a small town in Lancashire, I can honestly say I absolutely fell in love with the gentle, northern dulcet tones of Miss Honey. I felt like I was an 8 year old again, learning my 3 X tables… What a treat. I hope Ms Winslet will do more…
