Loved it. Voices didn't detract from the story - rather added to it - I'm impressed with Penelope Rawlins' characterisation and ability to completely change her voice. Lighthearted, fun, highly absorbing and enjoyable. Recommended.

I loved all of the main characters, and how you can immerse yourself in the world of baking, starting a new business, giving someone a chance, and looking for a new bank manager.

What did you like best about this story?

The description of Pear Tree Court, Stokey (Stoke Newington) and the fabulous cupcakes, mouth watering.

Which character – as performed by Penelope Rawlins – was your favourite?

Grandpa Joe, you buy into his spirit, enthusiasm and his recipes, I imagined every ingredient.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I really enjoyed this book, most part were light-hearted and fun, and you can associate the characters to someone you know.

I love this book! I can close my eyes and be transported to the cafe. A really lovely, easy listening book. The narrator has the most beautiful voice. This is a book that I listen to again and again. The characters are warm and friendly, I really can't praise it enough. 10/10 x 😎
