"Meet Me in the Margins is a delightfully charming jewel of a book that fans of romantic comedy won't be able to put down!" --Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times bestselling author of A Happier Life

Savannah Cade's dreams are coming true. The Claire Donovan, editor-in-chief of the most successful romance publishing company in the country, has requested to see the manuscript Savannah's been secretly writing. The only problem: she's an editor for a different company, and their philosophy is only highbrow works are worth printing and romance should be reserved for the lowest level of Dante's inferno.

But when Savannah drops her manuscript during a staff meeting and nearly exposes herself to the whole company--including William Pennington, the new boss and son of the romance-despising CEO herself--she has no choice but to hide the manuscript in a hidden room.

When she returns, she's dismayed to discover that someone has not only been in her hidden nook but has written notes in the margins--quite critical ones. But when Claire's own reaction turns out to be nearly identical to the scribbled remarks, and, worse, Claire announces that Savannah has six weeks to resubmit before she retires, Savannah finds herself forced to seek the help of the shadowy editor after all.

As their notes back and forth start to fill up the pages, however, Savannah finds him becoming pivotal not just to her work but her life. There's no doubt about it: she's falling for her mystery editor. If she only knew who he was.

With its irresistible bookish setting, slow-burn romance, and included discussion questions, Meet Me in the Margins makes a delightful pick for book clubs and readers who love stories about stories. Melissa Ferguson once again delivers her trademark laugh-out-loud charm and heartfelt romance--all without the spice.

Critic reviews

'Ferguson (The Cul-de-Sac War) enchants with this whimsical tale set against the evergreen culture war between literary and commercial fiction . . . An idealistic, competent heroine, a swoon-worthy hero, and delightfully quirky supporting characters bolster this often hilarious send up of the publishing industry, which doubles as a love letter to the power of stories. The is sure to win Ferguson some new fans.'

I loved this audiobook. I love romance books but I prefer closed-door romances because, as this book perfectly shows, they often have much more substance. I love the way this book explored certain areas, like family issues and the world of book publishing. Most of all, the idea of the secret archive room was what attracted me to this book in the first place. Such a lovely idea, very well written, created a lovely picture in my mind.

The performer was fantastic, I can be put off by single-performer narration, but narrators like this always manage to draw me back in. A lovely calming voice, really helps you feel relaxed and able to enjoy the book.

Added many more of this authors books to my wish list - excited to give them a listen!

Heartwarming, interesting, and well written/performed
