It’s entertaining, educational, and beautifully narrated, a great listen for anyone interested in culture, storytelling, or a touch of mystery.

Mexican Superstitions, Traditions, and Milagros is an engaging and eye-opening guide for anyone curious about the beliefs and customs that quietly shape everyday life in Mexico. The author does a wonderful job explaining traditions that locals often follow instinctively but rarely spell out—everything from mal de ojo and milagros to family rituals, taboos, and spiritual practices.

What I appreciated most is how accessible and respectful the book is. It’s written from the perspective of an outsider who has taken the time to listen, learn, and connect—making the explanations feel both thoughtful and relatable. The cultural insights, personal stories, and practical tips helped me understand not just the “what,” but the “why” behind many common beliefs.

I’m Mexican, and I’ll be honest, I still learned new things from this audiobook. It reminded me of all the stories my abuelita used to tell about curanderos, getting a sobada, and cracking an egg to see what was going on. I remember how her reaction would change depending on what she saw. I love my heritage, and in a weird way this made me feel more connected to my traditions and beliefs. Funny enough, I’m scared of spiders, but now I learned it’s bad luck to kill a black widow… so now I’ve got a problem. If you’re into folklore or visiting Mexico, this is a solid listen.
