great as usual I was immediatly drawn onto Bernard Sansomes world and dilemas in a well drawn mexico city.

The characters are great and can’t wait to read the next. Never thought I’d get in to spy books lol

There were two problems for me:-
1 ) Too much American usage by someone purporting to be English.
2 ) I know that this is an un-abridged narration, but there are too many 'he saids' and 'she saids'. They're irritating.

The audio editing could be better, there are a few repeats. Apart from that it jogs along pleasantly enough. Deighton & le Carré books are still the best cold war spy novels

Although I am listening on audiobooks this would be a page turner I am now on book three of the series and enjoying the thread although you could read out of order I prefer in sequence . Bernard Sampson is a down to earth intuitive spy against the old boy network of the day. I am hooked .I love the narrators voice as important as the storyline .
