About this listen

On a cold Southern night in 2013 under a full moon, 20-year-old Heather Elvis parked her car at a boat ramp along the Intracoastal Waterway and was never seen again.

The disappearance of the beautiful, vivacious hostess at the popular Myrtle Beach, South Carolina made international headlines and triggered a sweeping high-stakes investigation that exposed a twisted web of deception, betrayal, sexual obsession, police corruption, and revenge. But Heather's body was never located.

A series of sensational trials involving a handsome restaurant coworker and his Disneyland-obsessed wife resulted in shocking verdicts - but no body - as her family desperately sought closure and fought for justice, and a resort town struggled to regain calm.

This is the true story of the disappearance of Heather Elvis in a South Carolina town and the police quest to find her. After months of enquiries and support from the local townsfolk, 2 suspect; Sydney and later his wife Tammy, are prosecuted.

This is a very detailed, well written story, most of it covers the court cases of Sydney and Tammy. There's a lot of suspense as the court cases progress. Don't research the actual crime and spoil it for yourself, I was shocked at some of the outcomes and am glad I didn't.

I thought this was very well narrated too, check this one out.

As a true crime fan I was most impressed

A well written book, am so very sorry for Heather's family, she so didn't deserve whatever happened to her. I just hope nothing like this ever happens to the Moorers girls. What on earth did they do with Heather? So awful.

So terribly sad
