About this listen

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer — that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.

But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate — and not to mention devastatingly handsome — single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?

I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?

Wow! This book was just so, so good! Like, new favorite author, favorite series, re-reading material kind of good. 😍🙌 Sarah Monzon has outdone herself with this story and this genre, and has nailed everything I love about it: both the romantic tension and off the charts chemistry between Molly and Dr. Ben, as well as the laughs thanks to their inner monologue, descriptions based on their careers (him a doctor doing his residency, and her being an elementary teacher), as well as in the form of Chloe's adorable character. Of course, not everything is laughs and rose-colored glasses, and this story deals with the topic of losing a spouse in a truly beautiful, respectful, and touching way.

The narrator was just fantastic in bringing Molly, Ben, and Chloe to life, as well as the rest of the secondary characters: from Molly's mom to her group of friends, as well as Ben's friends and Chloe's playdate. Also, she nailed all the nuances and emotions in this book (from worry to longing, tiredness, excitement, and everything in between), and I seriously can't wait to listen to the following books. :)

Overall, a wonderful first in series rom-com that delivers on the laughs as well as the Clean/Sweet Romance (though keep in mind that they're adults and one's already been married), with a powerful message on what love truly is, as well as God's perfect timing. I seriously can't wait to dive into the rest of this series and follow each of the friends in the sewing club. ~ 5 stars!
