About this listen

Clive the spider lives a quiet life in an old pair of boots that once belonged to grandad. But when Albert Spindler, the owner of the boots, finds the name Montgomery inside them, he thinks he has struck gold. He believes the boots are a rare relic from Monty, the legendary World War Two hero.

He decides to take them to London and sell them at Sotheby’s Auction House. But things don’t go as planned. Along the way, Clive faces many dangers, including a near-fatal plunge into the Thames. He has to use his wit and cleverness to stay alive. Clive is no ordinary spider - he is smarter and more sensible than Albert Spindler, who has no idea that he has a remarkable companion.
