About this listen

Experience the first episode of the Baumgartner & Momsen detective story series for German learners on your stereo or headphones, at home or on the go! The narration style and speed of this audiobook is aimed at providing learners with real-world spoken German which is clearly understandable, not too fast, but also not too slow.

Get to know grumpy Kommissar Baumgartner and his sassy colleague Kommissarin Momsen, solve the mystery of a small town murder, enjoy the banter between the two detectives and learn German along the way. To get the most out of this audio book we recommend also getting a paperback or ebook edition of "Mord am Morgen. Learning German Through Storytelling" and working through the exercises.

The pronunciation is clear and at a comfortable speed (I'm at intermediate level, but a bit rusty). The story is quite engaging even though the vocabulary is kept simple.

A good way to learn (or refresh) German

The story line wasn't complicated and was really straightforward to follow. Definitely a step up to what I was reading before. I liked the repetition of key words throughout the book. André Klein did a great job of narration as well. A great tool to assist in German learning. I definitely recommend listening and reading at the same time.
