There are a thousand things a woman has to do in a day: There are work targets to achieve, there is a home to manage and a family to care for. All this, of course, while remaining calm, poised, and positive.

A woman of color feels this weight even more, struggling to achieve her ambitions in a world already set against her. She is expected to excel in everything she does; otherwise, she is not good enough. She fights to achieve her highest wins without losing her cool or complaining that she is tired. Sometimes, she just wants to break down in her secret place where she knows that no one will be able to see her.

It can be hard to feel ambitious as a Black woman, when the deck seems so stacked against you. You have to rescue yourself first and be willing to let the past “you” die so that you can be reborn as the woman you deserve to be. You have to remember that being a Black woman is the greatest feeling in the world; work hard and never let others push you down. You have to be a leader, to be great, to make a change. You'll be happier without keeping regrets in your heart.
