About this listen

It's Darcy and Elizabeth's wedding day, and the journey is just beginning as Jane Austen's beloved Pride and Prejudice characters embark on the greatest adventure of all: marriage and a life together filled with surprising passion, tender self-discovery, and the simple joys of every day.

As their love story unfolds in this most romantic of Jane Austen sequels, Darcy and Elizabeth reveal to each other how their relationship blossomed. From misunderstanding to perfect understanding and harmony, theirs is a marriage filled with romance, sensuality, and the beauty of a deep, abiding love.

"This is probably the hottest Austen sequel yet." ( Publishers Weekly)

As I’m on book three of this series I think it’s fair to say the story is great but it’s the kind of book where if your in a relationship where your not lavished with affection off your partner you’re going to feel that you’re missing out! It’s utterly romantic and the pair are at it like rabbits BUT REMEMBER this is NOT Jane Austin, it’s fan fiction, so a lot more smut scenes! This does not mean I dislike this story however, it’s well written and although the repetitive nature of their passion is unrealistic by modern standards, whose to say in regency periods men and women could be so sweet and giving to one another?! Let’s face it Elizabeth has not much to do other than dressing, sewing and taking walks. She’s moved to a completely new area where all she knows is Darcy who she’s just realised she’s in love with for the first time. You remember your first love… you go nuts and are infatuated! This book communicates that! Enjoy!

Romance on steroids

I generally enjoyed this, but it gets a bit repetitive and even juvenile at times, with the repeated endearments and constant sex (not graphic). A bit more Barbara Cartland than Jane Austen!

Tolerable

The narration was good but ......The amount of sex descriptions every 5 minutes ruined this book. It was more Jilly Cooper than JA. If the authors favourite version of P&P was the one with Keira Knightly this explains it. Other things I felt was wrong was facts about Regency
Britain, There where no Christmas Trees during that period, they weren't introduced until 1845. Dewberries were introduced in the UK in the 1800's but we're not successfully grown in all of Europe, it's only grown in the US. I don't usually fact check books but this book I did. The narration was very good can't complain about this. I will never ever listen to anymore of her books. It was the fact they where at it like rabbits that did for me, not much plot but a lot passion which in the end was boring .

More Bridgerton than Jane Austen. No plot much sex

Narrative random in parts. Sounded as though breaks taken in middle of chapter so tone of narrator is ifferent halfway through. This gets distracting after a while.

Also story based on film scenes rather than book and this again is a little distracting in parts.

Story good Narrative not so

I enjoyed this intimate exploration of the relationship between Lizzie and Darcy. Both of them behaving as I would have hoped.
Lathan builds on the romantic notions we have, for years, woven around these iconic characters.
I will without a doubt purchase the next instalment.
The narration was superb and enjoyable.
