'A masterpiece.' IRISH TIMES
'Electrifying.' GUARDIAN

From the author of The Damned Utd and Red or Dead, an extraordinary novel about Britain, sport and our collective past.

February 6, 1958, British European Airways Flight 609 crashed on take-off at Munich Airport. On board were the young Manchester United team, 'the Busby Babes', and the journalists who followed them. Twenty-one of the passengers died instantly, four were left fighting for their lives while six more were critically injured.

Munichs is the story of the crash and its aftermath, of those who survived and those who did not, of how Britain and football changed, and how it did not; a novel of tragedy, but also of hope.

'Profound . . . A brilliant, brilliant book.' DAVID WHITEHOUSE
'Luminous and illuminating . . . completely gripping.' ASHLEY HICKSON-LOVENCE
'Powerful.' TARIQ GODDARD

A masterpiece. Beautifully lends itself to being spoken aloud. A marvellous performance from both writer and reader.

David Peace brings to life the horror of the plane crash but also the deep emotional impact of all those affected by it.

Christopher Ecclestones narration beautifully compliments the story. Highly recommend even for those not interested in football.

Easy to believe it happened this way - good pace - well read - atmospheric. A time when football meant everything - not just money

A story that should never be forgotten

A very detailed novel that is linked to the real events. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book which was excellently narrated by Christopher Eccleston.

A really good read

Mike Atherton is usually spot on and he is about this book. Poignaht and powerful. As a United fan, I grew up with the Munich story but learned so much about all those involved and how it must have affected them. Does them all and the story justice - helped in no small part by Christopher Ecclestone's narrative

A book that does justice to a tragic and powerful story and all those it involved
